Day 62 - Two full months on the road!

We must be back on the plains because overnight a windstorm blew in.  It wasn’t Antelope Island kind of winds, but it was enough to get the supports creaking and make sleeping difficult.  Once we were all up, I got out the can of silicon lubricant, sprayed some of that on the supports, and BINGO no more sound.  The sleepiness in me sure wishes I had known about that and done it last night!

Despite being woken with the storm, we still didn’t get an early or fast start to the day.  But we did have the benefit of more treats associated with electricity/refrigeration - yogurt!  We mixed this in with cereal and blueberries for a breakfast that, while not extravagant was rare.  After we finished, we packed up the camper and started on the road for our short drive down to Waterton.  Pack up and hit the road for a short transfer

We headed south out of Calgary and it got rural pretty quickly.  Not knowing how many more opportunities we would have, we made a stop at Tim Horton’s for gas, coffee, and donuts.  Amy decided to give Dover a pull so started the drive from Tim Horton’s.  We made a quick stop for groceries and also a stop at Napa Auto Parts because our left blinker was consistently not working on the trailer.

Carrying on south, we made it almost all the way to camp before we saw a sign for the National Buffalo Paddock.  We hadn’t seen many buffalo yet so we decided to pull in.  Alas, even in the National Paddock, we could see no buffalo.  On the plus side, somewhere along the way we left the plains and we realized that we were back into the mountains.

Shortly after the buffalo paddock, we made our way to camp.  It wasn’t in the National Park, but it was very close and had a nice spot for us with a great breeze.  Once we had camp set up, we thought about going into the park because we had hear rumors of a splash pad, but it turns out that’s inside the park and we would have had to pay the fee.  Since there was no guarantee  the splash pad was a) there or b) open, we passed and decided for an easy evening. Instead, I spent some time getting the part we bought replaced.

Our easy evening consisted of finishing Strange World, enjoyed some breakfast for dinner (with bacon!), took some showers (warm water!), and finished with an early-ish bed time.
